Belmont Park Stakes for June 7 – June 9

Belmont Park will have an entire week of excitement and media coverage leading up to the Belmont Stakes. The Belmont Stakes contenders and their connections will start to arrive early in the week and all eyes will be focused on Justify winning the Triple Crown and which contender can stop another Triple Crown from happening on June 9 in the Belmont Stakes.

Belmont Park will be offering the racing enthusiast many quality stakes earlier in the week starting on June 7 with two Grade III races on the turf – Astoria and Wonder Again – plus the Panther Stakes.  Racing on June 8 continues with four graded stakes that include the Bed o’ Roses Invitational Grade III on dirt, Belmont Gold Cup Invitational Grade II on turf, New York City Stakes Grade II on turf, Ture North Grade II on dirt plus the Tremont.

The Belmont Park race card for June 9 has ten stakes race including three Breeders’ Cup Challenge races, “Win and You’re In” guaranteed entry to the Breeders’ Cup Races at Churchill Downs in November. The three Breeders’ Cup Challenge races are Jaipur Invitational Grade III on turf, Ogden Phipps Stakes Grade I on dirt, and Runhappy Metropolitan Handicap Grade I on dirt. The balance, additional seven stakes races, include Acorn Stakes Grade I, Belmont Stakes Grade I, Easy Goer Stakes, Longines Just a Game Stake Grade I on turf, Woodford Reserve Manhattan Stakes Grade I on turf, and the Woody Stephens Stakes Grade II on dirt.

Belmont Park on June 9th will have over 100,000 in attendance to watch Justify try to become the next Triple Crown winner. The 2018 Belmont Stakes gets to be the race enthusiast race of the year, with Justify’s actually having a chance at winning the Triple Crown. Justify is going for history on Saturday in the Belmont Stakes, the final race of the Triple Crown races, by achieving the title of Triple Crown Winner, the most coveted achievement in thoroughbred horse racing.

Justify is the first horse since American Pharoah, in 2015, to capture the first two Triple Crown races, which adds to the excitement this week at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York. The Belmont Stakes post position draw will take place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York on June 5.
