Blamed is withdrawn from the Kentucky Oaks

Joel Marr, trainer of Blamed, announced that Blamed has a hairline fracture in her right hind pastern and has been withdrawn from the Kentucky Oaks. She had a :48: 30 half-mile work on April 28. Joel Marr had some concerns on Sunday morning on during her shedrow jog that something was wrong. She was x-rayed at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital on Sunday. The decision to withdraw her was quickly made after the results of the x-rays. Blamed was number 12 on the Kentucky Oaks Leader Board with 50 points.

The first filly on the also eligible list is Classy Act with 30 points. Classy Act has earned $128,093. Her owner is Carl R. Moore Management LLC and is trained by W. Bret Calhoun. She was purchased by Carl R. Moore Management LLC at the Keenland Association September 2016 Yearling Sale for $92,000. In 2018, she has 3 starts at the Fair Grounds. She won an Allowance Optional Claiming race on January 18, her next race was the Rachel Alexandra Stakes on February 17 where she finished second and her most recent  race was the TwinSpires Fairground Oaks were she finished 4th.
