Stubbins will be making his first start off an extended layoff. He won his 2029 debut off a four month layoff in a downhill sprint January 2019. He finished third in a Del Mar turf sprint last summer. He finished 4th in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (G1).
Cistron had an impressive 2019 and returned in 2020 with a victory in the San Simeon (G3) March 21. He has speed and should allow him to control the pace.
Wildman Jack won a turf sprint in Dubai March 7. He proved in 2019 that he is a top level turf sprinter in his five turf sprints in California last year. He should finish in top two.
Texas Wedge in his last five starts has finished either 1st or 2nd. He had back-to-back turf sprint stakes wins in January.
J’s Top Three Picks:
- Wildman Jack
- Texas Wedge
