Independence Hall is unbeaten and unchallenged in three starts. He dominated the field in the Nashua Stakes (G3) and won by 4 lenghts in the Jerome Stakes. He has the speed to control the pace in the Sam F. Davis. Independence Hall has not been tested around two turns. He needs to stay engaged in the race. He is the horse to outrun.
Sole Volante won his first two starts on turf, including the Pulpit, and was then third in the Mucho Macho Man. He likes to stalk the pace and makes a late run at the leaders down the lane. He has a chance to be on the board if the fractions are fast.
Ajaaweed has raced around two turns. He finished second in the 1 1/8-mile Remsen (G2) on Dec. 7 at Aqueduct. He has lacks tactical speed and does his best running from far off the pace. He should be on the board.
Premier Star has tactical speed. He is undefeated and has won two races going 7 furlongs. He won his debut on Dec. 8. He won an allowance race at Gulfstream, going gate– to- wire.
