The Shoemaker Mile is a Breeders’ Cup “Win and You’re In” Challenge Race, with the winner earning an automatic entry into Mile over turf on November 7 at Keeneland.

Without Parole was third in the Breeders’ Cup Mile and 11th in the Pegasus World Cup Turf (G1). At Royal Ascot in 2018 he was a Group 1 winner as a 3-year-old. He should finish in top five.
True Valour is a hard luck horse. He has found trouble in most of his race but has been able to pull off with several top-four finishes. His most recent victory came back in October in the City of Hope Mile (G2) at Santa Anita. He will need a perfect trip to land on the board.
Next Shares finished second in his most-recent start the Franke E. Kilroe Mile (G1) in his most-recent start. He won the 2018 Shadwell Turf Mile (G1). He has the class and bank roll to prove he can compete at this level. He should finish in top four.
Voodoo Song has a four -race win streak in 2017.In 2018, he won the Fourstardave (G1) the following year. However, he has not won a race since 2018. He likes to be the pace setter but against this field his speed will fade, and he will finish in mid-pack.
War of Will is 2019 Preakness Stake winner. As a two-year-old he finished second in the Summer Stakes (G1). as a 2-year-old. In his last race he finished ninth in the Breeders’ Cup Classic. He finished third in the Pennsylvania Derby (G1). He will be stalking the pace setter. This is a tough field to chase in your season debut. He should finish in top six.
Blitzkrieg was claimed for $25,000 in January of 2019. He won three races in a row, including the San Francisco (G3) turf mile at Golden Gate Fields. He is winless since April of 2019. He is out classed in the race. He should not be a factor at the wire.
Majestic Eagle finished sixth in his most recent start in the Thunder Road (G3). His last win came back in June of 2019 in the American Stakes (G3) at Santa Anita. . He is out classed in the race. He should not be a factor at the wire.
Raging Bull (will be making his 2020 debut. He ran a game race in the Woodbine Mile (G1) in September, when he was placed third after a poor start and was bumped down the lane. His last six starts have come in Grade 1 company against top turf horses. He should finish in the top three.
March to the Arch in 2020 was third in the Appleton (G3). He finished second in stakes at Tampa and another at Gulfstream. He should finish in the top six.
Neptune’s Storm has not raced since December. He finished third in the Mathis Brothers Mile (G2). after pressing the early pace. He shows a steady string of workouts in preparation for his debut against older turf horses. Four of his five career wins were at Santa Anita as part of a record where he had only two races with off the board finishes. He will be forwardly placed but will fade down the lane. He should finish in mid-pack.
River Boyne has put together two wins in the Kilroe Mile (G1) and the Thunder Road (G3) at a mile at Santa Anita. He likes to stalk the pace and start his move around the turn for home. His outside post position is an issue he need to resolve early in the race. He is the class of the race and should finish in the top three.
