Miss Preakness Stakes (G3) at Pimlico On May 15

After winning an allowance optional claiming race on April 6 at Keeneland, lightly raced Covfefe will attempt to win her first graded stakes of her career in the May 17 Springs Miss Preakness Stakes (G3) at Pimlico. She showed enough talent in a 9 1/4-length maiden special weight victory in her September debut she was entered in the Frizette Stakes (G1). She was the 4-5 favorite in that one-turn mile test and ran fourth. She returned April 6 to win a 6 1/2 furlongs race at Keeneland. She should finish in top three.

Race 8. Miss Preakness Stakes (G3). For three-year-old fillies at 6 furlongs on dirt. Purse $150,000.

Covfefe will attempt to secure the first graded stakes win of her career in the Miss Preakness Stakes (G3). Covfefe showed enough talent in a 9 1/4-length maiden special weight victory in her September debut that she was entered in the Oct. 7 Frizette Stakes (G1) at Belmont Park. Sent was the 4-5 favorite in that one-turn mile test, she finished fourth. She returned on April 6 to win a 6 1/2 furlongs at Keeneland. She will be forwardly placed. She should finish in top three.

Congrats Gal has yet to lose in Maryland, with three Laurel Park victories by a combined 27 1/2 lengths. In two other starts, she was third in last summer’s Schuylerville (GIII) at Saratoga and second in a 5 1/2 furlong stakes at Delaware. She should finish in top five.

Never Enough Time won her only two starts by more than five lengths each at Laurel. This is her first stake race and may find the competition more than she can handle.

Please Flatter Me won her first three starts with ease while sprinting, including stakes at Penn National and Laurel. In her last start, she finished a close fourth in Aqueduct’s $250,00 Busher Stakes at a mile. She should finish on the board.

Fighting Mad is 2 for 2 and won a Churchill Downs allowance race on April 30. She may find the competition more than she can handle.

Midnight Fantasy won a Mahoning Valley $75,000 stakes race for a five-lengths. She needs to improve to have a chance of being on the board.

Bye Bye J won Oaklawn’s Rainbow Miss in her last start and she finished second in Gulfstream Park’s Forward Gal (G2). She should finish in top five.
