Overview of Smile Sprint Stakes at Gulfstream Park

Smile Sprint Stakes is a Grade III for three-year-old and up colts and geldings at six furlongs on dirt. Purse $250,000. Imperial Hint won the 2017 Smile Sprint Stakes.

X Y Jet will seek his sixth straight stakes victory at Gulfstream Park in the Smile Sprint Stakes (Grade III). He finished second in his last race the Dubai Golden Shaheen Sponsored By Gulf News (G1) at Meydan on March 31st.

Reason to Soar has a three-race win streak at Gulfstream Park. He won his last race, an Optional Claiming Allowance, by a half-length. This will be Reason to Soar first start in open stakes company.

Classic Rock is riding a three-race win streak at Gulfstream Park, including a three-length victory in the Gulfstream Park Sprint, Grade III, on March 3rd. He won  Jeblar Stakes, 6 1/2 furlongs, on May 6th. He has won six of his seven starts at Gulfstream Park.

Mr. Jordan lost his first 12 at Gulfstream Park. He was on the board six times facing Graded Stakes competition. He won the Big Drama Stakes , 7 furlongs affair, at  Gulfstream Park on May 12th.

Petrov has placed in multiple graded stakes. Petrov was on the Triple Crown trail in 2017. He finished second in the Smarty Jones and Southwest Stakes (Grade III) and ran fourth in the Rebel (Grade II) at Oaklawn . He finished ninth in the Arkansas Derby (Grade I). He finished ninth in his last race,  an Allowance Optional Claiming race at Oakland Park on May 5th going 1 mile on dirt.

Sweetontheladies is a multiple Black Type stakes winner who finished second behind Classic Rock in the Gulfstream Park Sprint on March 3rd. In 2017 he won the Crystal River Handicap at Gulfstream Park going five furlongs on dirt. He has started 16 times and won four races.

Mo Cash is multiple Black type stakes winner. He ran third in his 2018 debut race, Rail Splitter Stakes at Gulfstream Park on February 17th. His second race in 2018 was the Horse Races Now Sprint Stakes, 6 furlongs on dirt, at Tampa Bay on March 25th. He finished fourth and was 6 3/4 lengths behind the winner, Imperial Hint.

 

Splash Rules is a two-time stakes winner at Gulfstream in 2017. He won the Alabama Jack’s Handicap on October 17th going 7 furlongs on dirt and Groomstick Handicap on September 3rd going 6 furlongs on dirt. He will be making his second start off a seven-month layoff.
