Accelerate has won four graded stakes scores in 2018 year: San Pasqual, Santa Anita Handicap, Gold Cup and Pacific Classic. Accelerate has earnings of $2,312,480 and is the horse to beat in the 2018 Awesome Again.

West Coast has not raced since his second place finish in the Dubai World Cup, Grade I, on March 31. A winner of five consecutive races last year, the Travers, and Pennsylvania Derby. He ran third in the 2017 Breeders’ Cup Classic.

Other entries are Prime Attraction and The Lieutenant. Prime Attraction ran behind Accelerate in two races this year. The Lieutenant finished also behind Accelerate in two race.

New challengers in the six-horse field include Isotherm, who is winless in eight starts since he won the San Marcos Stakes in February 2017, Shades of Victory who won the E.B. Johnston Stakes for California-breds at Los Alamitos Race Course.
