Melmich lines up against six competitors’ in the $125,000 Dominion Day Stakes going 10 furlongs. He has won the last two runnings of the race . He won last year’s race by 1 1/2 lengths over the returning Gigantic Breeze and Are You Kidding Me. Gigantic Breeze finished second by 3 /4 length over Are You Kidding Me. Melmich in 2017 won the Seagram Cup Stakes (Grade III) and the Elgin Stakes. He won five consecutive race in 2017. He last victory in his win streak was the Durham Cup Stakes (Grade III).

Are You Kidding Me is a multiple stakes winner. His latest stake win was Eclipse Stake at Woodbine on May 26th. He has won the Eclipse Stakes four time : 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Gigantic Breeze finished third in his 2018 debut in the Eclipse Stakes. His only stakes victory occurred in the 2017 Autumn Stakes at Woodbine on November 12th.
