Game Winner the champion 2-year-old of 2018, will make his first start since an recording a fifth place finish, by the disqualification of Maximum Security, in the Kentucky Derby. His fifth place finish was his first off the board finish in seven starts. Game Winner was 4-for-4 in 2018, completing his perfect season with victory in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. He has recorded five works since the Derby. His most recent work was a 1:13.00 six furlong breeze at Santa Anita on July 6. He should have a solid afternoon workout and record his first win in 2019.
Feeling Strong will be making his graded stakes debut in the Derby. He enters coming comes off a victory in an $20,000 optional claimer for California breds on June 21. He has two wins from his 11 starts and earned $145,493. In his most recent appearance at Los Alamitos he ran third in the King Glorious Stakes on Dec. 16. He likes to stalk the pace and move to the leaders around the turn for home. He will follow Game Winner across wire.
Kingly is 2-for-6 with earnings of $134,200. He was fifth in the Affirmed in his last start. He has yet to win a graded stakes. He won the California Derby, Black Listed, over the Tapeta surface at Golden Gate Fields. He will stalk the pace and follow Game Winner across the wire.
Parsimony is still a maiden after 12 starts with earnings of$104,522. He switches to dirt after finishing third as the 3-2 favorite in his most recent race on turf June 22. He finished eighth out of 10 in the Rebel Stakes (G2) on March 16 at Oaklawn Park. He finished last, 14th, in the Blue Grass Stakes (G2) on April 6 at Keeneland.
