Roy H is the defending champ in both the Santa Anita Sprint Championship and the Breeders’ Cup Sprint. He comes off a 2 1/4  length defeat by Ransom the Moon in the Bing Crosby Stakes, Grade I, on July 28. Roy H will likely be favored on over Ransom the Moon. In his last five starts, he has three consecutive victories including last year’s Santa Anita Sprint Championship, the Breeders’ Cup Sprint and the Grade II Palos Verdes. Roy H appears to be the horse to beat.

Ransom the Moon won the Bing Crosby going away 2 ¼ lengths on July 28. He likes to stalk the lead pack. There should be a solid pace in the race. He was fifth two starts back in the one turn Metropolitan Mile Handicap at Belmont June 9. He has two wins from four starts at six furlongs, both in the Crosby, Grade I, at Del Mar. He won the Grade II Kona Gold Stakes, Grade II, at Keenland. He is has won three graded stakes winner.
