Top sprinters Whitmore and Limousine Liberal, who have split four meetings with each other, headline a field of six entered for the Stoll Keenon Ogden Phoenix going 6 furlongs on the main track.

Last year’s race was the first meeting of the two with Limousine Liberal finishing third, a neck back. Limousine Liberal took the next two meetings, winning the Churchill Downs (Grade II) over a sloppy track with Whitmore 3 1/4 lengths back in fourth. Then winning by a neck in the Belmont Sprint Championship (Grade II). That victory earned Limousine Liberal a Breeders’ Cup berth in the Sprint.

Whitmore won the Forego (Grade I), beating third-place finisher Limousine Liberal by 1 1/2 lengths and earning a spot in the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (Grade I).

The top threat to beat Whitmore and Limousine Liberal is Promises Fulfilled.

Promises Fulfilled won the Amsterdam (Grade III) and H. Allen Jerkens (Grade I) at Saratoga in his past two starts. He will be facing older horses for the first time in the  Stoll Keenon Ogden Phoenix.

Promises Fulfilled should be able to outlast Whitmore and Limousine Liberal. Appears he can handle a fast pace and has the endurance to maintain the speed for six furlongs. He may go off as the betting favorite.
