Shang Shang Shang, USA filly, wins the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot

Trainer Wesley Ward, winless through the first two days of Royal Ascot, reversed that trend Thursday with Shang Shang Shang’s victory in the Norfolk Stakes.  She went wire to wire for a nose win over Pocket Dynamo. Shang Shang Shang went  off as the 3-1 co-favorite.

Shang Shang Shang was the only filly in the race, she received an automatic berth for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint. The Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint will make its debut at this year’s World Championships at Churchill Downs. The Turf Sprint race will be run at about 5.5 furlongs on the turf and will be open to all 2-year-olds for a one million dollar purse.
